These photos finish up our three-day stay in
Louyang. Louyang is situated on the central plain of China, one of the cradles of the Chinese civilization. It was one of the four great ancient capitals of China. Today
it is home to 6,544,000 people.
Hours later, our train arrives in Xi'an, one
of the oldest cities in China. With more than 3,100 years of history, Xi'an was known as Chang'an before the Ming
Dynasty. It is one of the four great ancient capitals of China, having held that position under several
of the most important dynasties in Chinese history, including Zhou, Qin, Han, Sui, and Tang. Xi'an is the eastern terminus
of the Silk Road and the location to the Terracotta Army. Today it is home to 8,252,000 people.
